Lightweight Gun Signature Simulator (LGSS)
Description
LGSS is a universal – all in one – Battlefield Effects Simulator (BES). It is of modular design and of low weight, compared to existing simulators. LGSS has been built to use existing type-qualified and material released pyrotechnic ammunition of M30 and M31 type. LGSS makes own and hostile effect simulation detectable by Night Vision Equipment under all weather and visibility conditions, thus enhancing tactical realism in training.
LGSS is adaptable to combat vehicles for force-on-force training as well as to advanced targetry to simulate hostile fire and hits in force on-target live fire training. LGSS is also deployable in Urban Operation Training as a scalable means to simulate detonations from boobytraps, road-side bombs and IED.
